2 tbsp butter
1 onion, diced
1 pinch seasoned salt, or to taste
6 thin bone-in pork chops
1 can (400g) beef consomme
300 ml water
1.5 cups white rice
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Step 2
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and cook the diced onion until golden brown (15-20 minutes). Transfer the onions to a plate.
Step 3
Season each pork chop with seasoned salt. In the same skillet, brown the pork chops for 1-2 minutes per side.
Step 4
In a 23x33 cm (9x13 inch) baking dish, mix the beef consomme and water. Add the rice and caramelized onion. Arrange the pork chops over the rice. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
Step 5
Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of at least 63°C (145°F).
