450g egg noodles
115g salted butter
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 large head cabbage, shredded
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Step 1
Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are cooked through but still firm to the bite, approximately 5 minutes. Drain the noodles and set aside.
Step 2
In a skillet, melt the butter over low heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened and the butter is golden brown, about 5-10 minutes. Add the shredded cabbage, tossing to coat. Cover the skillet and cook the cabbage, stirring occasionally, until it becomes tender, approximately 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove the lid and continue to cook until the cabbage begins to brown, for an additional 5-10 minutes.
Step 3
Combine the cooked noodles and cabbage in a serving bowl, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
