30 ml olive oil
1 tomato, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
60 ml chopped fresh basil
Step 1
In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add the diced tomato and minced garlic, and cook until softened, approximately 3 minutes.
Step 2
Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, and cook until the sauce becomes fragrant, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add the chopped basil and continue to cook until it wilts and infuses the sauce with its aroma, for 1 to 2 minutes.
