60 ml soy sauce
30 ml honey
20 ml sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
3 slices fresh ginger root
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
Step 1
First, gather all the ingredients needed for this recipe.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, crushed garlic, and ginger slices. Microwave the mixture on medium power for 1 minute, then stir. Heat again for 30 seconds, being careful not to let it boil.
Step 3
Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish and pour the soy sauce mixture over them. Allow the chicken to marinate for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate. While the grill is heating, remove the chicken from the marinade. Transfer the marinade to a small saucepan and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer until it thickens, about 1 minute. Set it aside for basting.
Step 5
Grill the chicken, basting frequently with the reserved marinade, until it is golden brown on all sides and no longer pink in the center, about 6 to 8 minutes per side. Use an instant-read meat thermometer to ensure the thickest piece reaches at least 70 degrees C (160 degrees F).
