6 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 pinch of salt and ground black pepper to taste
180 grams all-purpose flour
1 large egg
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
120 grams panko bread crumbs
1 serving of nonstick cooking spray
Step 1
Begin by cutting the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise, then carefully remove the yolks and place them in a small bowl. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Use a fork to mash the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth. Set the creamy filling aside.
Step 2
Prepare three separate bowls: one with the all-purpose flour, another with the beaten egg and hot pepper sauce, and the last one with the panko bread crumbs.
Step 3
Preheat the air fryer to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 4
Rinse the egg whites and place them on a clean work surface. Dredge the egg whites in the bowl of flour until they are well coated. Dip them into the beaten egg mixture and then into the panko bread crumbs.
Step 5
Place the breaded egg whites in the air fryer basket and spray the tops with cooking spray. Cook for 3 minutes, then flip the egg whites and spray the tops with more cooking spray. Continue cooking for an additional 4 minutes.
Step 6
Once cooked, transfer the crispy egg whites to a serving tray and spoon the creamy yolk mixture into the centers.
