Ingredients

1.2 kg coarsely chopped mixed fruit (apples, plums, and pears)
240 ml water
180 ml apple juice
120 g packed light brown sugar
15 g apricot preserves
5 ml soy sauce
2.5 ml garlic powder
2.5 ml dry mustard

Directions

Step 1
Prepare the fruit and place in a large stockpot over medium-high heat. Add water, apple juice, brown sugar, apricot preserves, soy sauce, garlic powder, and dry mustard.
Step 2
Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring frequently to ensure the brown sugar is fully dissolved. Reduce the heat and continue simmering for about 40 minutes until the fruit is completely soft. Remove from the heat and let it cool for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Transfer the cooled mixture to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth, adjusting the consistency with additional water if desired.
Step 4
Cover the dip and refrigerate until ready to use.
