Ingredients

450 grams ground pork
2 green onions, finely chopped
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 teaspoons hot chili sauce
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers
2 (32 ounce) cartons chicken broth
2.5 cm piece fresh ginger, grated
5 green onions, thinly sliced
Dash of soy sauce, to taste

Directions

Step 1
Prepare the wontons: In a bowl, combine the ground pork, green onions, beaten egg, hot chili sauce, and black pepper. Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Assemble the wontons: Place a generous teaspoon of the pork mixture in the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water. Fold the bottom corner to the top, creating a triangle, and press to seal. Fold the two side corners towards the center and pinch to secure. Repeat with the remaining wontons.
Step 3
Prepare the soup: In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the grated ginger, then gently drop in the wontons. Cook until they float to the surface, approximately 6 minutes.
Step 4
Garnish each serving with a sprinkle of sliced green onions and a drizzle of soy sauce.
