Ingredients

450g bulk Italian sausage
2 medium carrots, sliced into 1.5cm rounds
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 stalk celery, finely chopped
1 large clove garlic, minced
1.5 liters chicken broth
3 (450g) cans great northern beans, drained
1 (400g) can diced tomatoes
0.5 medium head cabbage, roughly chopped
1.25 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Directions

Step 1
In a large pot, heat the Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Cook the Italian sausage until browned and crumbly, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Add the carrots, onion, celery, and garlic; cook and stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 2
Add the chicken broth, beans, tomatoes, cabbage, and Italian seasoning to the pot. Bring to a simmer and cook until the cabbage is tender, for about 5 to 10 minutes.
