454 grams imitation crabmeat
454 grams uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
30 milliliters lemon juice, divided
240 milliliters minced celery
240 milliliters mayonnaise (such as Hellmann's®)
80 milliliters minced red onion
15 milliliters minced fresh dill
15 milliliters seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Step 1
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the shrimp and 30 milliliters of lemon juice. Cook until the shrimp turn pink on the outside and the meat is opaque, approximately 2 minutes.
Step 2
Transfer the cooked shrimp to a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the minced celery, mayonnaise, 240 milliliters of red onion, dill, remaining 20 milliliters of lemon juice, seafood seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Step 4
Dice the shrimp and crab, then gently fold them into the mayonnaise mixture to coat. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
