1 loaf (450g) French bread, cut into 2.5cm slices
2 bananas, peeled and sliced
3 eggs, beaten
5ml water
15ml milk
5ml vanilla extract
15ml orange liqueur
5ml grated orange zest
60g butter
confectioners' sugar for dusting
Step 1
Cut a pocket about 2/3 of the way into each bread slice. Fill the pockets with 2-3 banana slices each.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, water, milk, vanilla extract, orange liqueur, and orange zest. Dip the bread slices in the mixture, ensuring they are fully saturated.
Step 3
Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Place a few slices at a time in the skillet and cook until both sides are golden brown. Dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.
