Ingredients

4 cups thinly sliced apples
60 ml orange juice
240 g white sugar
90 g all-purpose flour
2.5 g ground cinnamon
1.25 g ground nutmeg
1 pinch salt
115 g cold butter, cubed

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate.

Arrange the thinly sliced apples in the prepared pie plate and sprinkle them with orange juice.

In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Cut in the cold butter using 2 knives or a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Evenly spread the streusel mixture over the apples.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the streusel is golden brown and the filling is hot. It will thicken as it cools. Serve the apple streusel bake warm.
