1 package (15.25 oz) lemon cake mix
320 ml vegetable oil
180 ml orange juice
4 large eggs
1 package (85 g) lime flavored Jell-O® mix
1 package (225 g) cream cheese, softened
115 g butter
480 g confectioners' sugar
45 ml fresh lime juice
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease three 20-cm (8-inch) round cake pans.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, orange juice, eggs, and lime gelatin mix. Beat until well combined, then pour the batter into the prepared cake pans.
Step 3
Bake for 16 to 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cake layer comes out clean. Allow the cake layers to cool completely.
Step 4
While the cake is cooling, prepare the frosting. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy. Add the confectioners' sugar and lime juice, and mix until well combined.
Step 5
Once the cake layers have cooled, fill and frost them with the cream cheese frosting.
