4 eggs
125 ml milk
60 g white sugar
60 ml orange liqueur (e.g., Triple-Sec)
1/2 fresh orange, juiced and zested
5 ml orange extract
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp nutmeg
12 slices cinnamon raisin bread
Confectioners' sugar, for garnish
Warm maple syrup, as needed
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease two large baking sheets or line with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking oil to prevent sticking.
Step 2
In a bowl, whisk the eggs until pale. Add the milk, sugar, orange liqueur, orange juice, zest, extract, salt, and nutmeg. Whisk until well combined.
Step 3
Dip the bread slices in the egg custard and place on the prepared baking sheets without overlapping. Bake for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
Step 4
To serve, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and drizzle with maple syrup.
