6 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
350 ml milk
75 g shredded Swiss cheese
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and grease a casserole dish.

Arrange the sliced potatoes in the casserole dish and season with salt.

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the flour to form a paste. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring constantly until a thick white sauce forms (about 5 minutes). Stir in the cheese and remove from heat. Pour the sauce over the potatoes.
Step 4
Bake in the preheated oven until the potatoes are tender and the tops are lightly browned, about 1 hour.
