1.5 cups crushed pretzels
175 g butter, melted
4.5 tbsp white sugar
2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese
1 cup white sugar
1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
470 ml boiling water
1 (6 oz) package strawberry flavored Jell-O®
450 g frozen strawberries
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and gather all the ingredients.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 4 1/2 tablespoons of sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 23x33 cm (9x13 inch) dish. Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly toasted, then set aside to cool completely.
Step 3
In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped topping and spread the mixture evenly over the cooled crust. Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes.
Step 4
In a large bowl, stir together the boiling water and strawberry gelatin mix. Add the frozen strawberries and stir until thawed. Pour the mixture over the cream cheese layer in the dish. Refrigerate until completely chilled, at least 1 hour.
Step 5
Slice and serve chilled.
