Ingredients

15g butter
120g onion, chopped
3 medium green onions, chopped
0.5g garlic powder
450g sliced honey ham, finely chopped
180g shredded Cheddar cheese
360g dried breadcrumbs, divided
salt and pepper to taste
4 eggs
480ml oil for frying
30ml water

Directions

Step 1
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion, green onions, and garlic powder. Cook until tender, about 10 minutes.
Step 2
Transfer the onion mixture to a large bowl. Add the chopped ham, Cheddar cheese, and 180g of breadcrumbs. Beat 3 eggs and stir them into the ham mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Use your hands to form golf ball-size balls out of the ham mixture.
Step 3
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Spread the remaining breadcrumbs onto a plate. In a large bowl, beat 1 egg and stir in the water. Dip the ham balls into the egg mixture and roll them in the breadcrumbs. Place the balls in the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd. Fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 4
Serve hot and enjoy!
