Ingredients

Olive oil cooking spray (such as PAM®)
4 unsalted matzo boards
225 g unsalted butter
200 g light brown sugar, firmly packed
135 g chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Step 2
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray. Arrange the matzo boards in a single layer, breaking them if needed.
Step 3
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then boil for about 3 minutes.
Step 4
Pour the butter mixture evenly over the matzo on the prepared baking sheet. Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and immediately reduce the heat to 175°C (350°F). Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 165°C (325°F) if the matzo is smoking too much.
Step 5
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the matzo with chocolate chips. Let it stand to melt the chocolate, about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Spread the melted chocolate over the matzo and place it in the refrigerator until chilled and set. Break it into pieces when cooled.
