Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp lard
360 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Begin by combining the flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Rub in the lard until the mixture resembles cornmeal. Add the water and mix until the dough comes together.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth and elastic. Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
Step 3
Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Roll each dough ball into a thin, round tortilla using a well-floured rolling pin. Cook in the skillet until bubbly and golden, then flip and continue cooking until golden on the other side. Keep the cooked tortillas warm in a tortilla warmer as you continue rolling and cooking the remaining dough.
