6 cups (900g) peeled and sliced fresh peaches
1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
4 tbsp (30g) all-purpose flour, divided
1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 large egg
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a 2-1/2 quart baking dish.
Step 2
Place the sliced peaches in the prepared baking dish. In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, 3 tablespoons of flour, lemon juice, lemon zest, and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the peaches.
Step 3
In another bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Stir in the egg until the mixture forms pea-sized crumbles. Sprinkle this mixture over the peaches. Pour the melted butter evenly over the crumbles.
Step 4
Bake in the preheated oven until the top is lightly browned, for about 40 minutes.
