Ingredients

250 g all-purpose flour
1.25 ml onion powder
1.25 ml garlic powder
salt and ground black pepper, to taste
700 g cubed beef stew meat
15 ml vegetable oil
250 g baby carrots, quartered
0.5 yellow onion, quartered and sliced
4 red potatoes, quartered
2 stalks celery, roughly chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
180 ml red wine
60 ml beef broth
60 ml tomato paste
5 ml dried rosemary

Directions

Step 1
In a large shallow bowl, whisk together flour, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the beef to the seasoned flour and coat evenly; shake off any excess flour.
Step 2
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the beef in hot oil, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides, for 5 to 10 minutes. Transfer the beef to the slow cooker and add the carrots, onion, potatoes, celery, and garlic.
Step 3
In a small bowl, whisk together red wine, beef broth, tomato paste, and rosemary until smooth. Pour the mixture over the beef and vegetables in the slow cooker.
Step 4
Cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours, or until the beef and vegetables are tender.
