Ingredients

60 ml warm water
1 package (7 g) active dry yeast
425 g pumpkin puree
150 g white sugar
150 ml evaporated milk
45 ml olive oil
1 large egg, beaten
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
600 g all-purpose flour, or more if needed
60 ml melted butter
300 g brown sugar
2 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
120 g confectioners' sugar
60 ml milk
30 g butter, melted
85 g cream cheese, softened
2.5 ml vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Gather all the ingredients.
Step 2
To make the dough, pour warm water into a large mixing bowl and sprinkle yeast over the top. Let it stand until the yeast forms a creamy foam, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 3
Add pumpkin puree, white sugar, evaporated milk, olive oil, and beaten egg to the yeast mixture. Mix until thoroughly combined. Stir in pumpkin pie spice, then mix in about 600 g of flour, or as needed, until a stiff dough forms.
Step 4
Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface and knead until smooth and elastic, but still slightly sticky, about 8 minutes. Form the dough into a ball, then place it in an oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes. (The dough will rise, but it won't double in size.)
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease a 23x33 cm baking dish.
Step 6
Punch down the dough, then roll it out on a floured work surface to a 46x66 cm rectangle. Brush the top with melted butter. To make the filling, mix together brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice in a small bowl; sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
Step 7
Starting at the longer edge, roll the dough over the filling into a log. Pinch the seam closed, then use a serrated knife to cut the log into 12 equal rolls.
Step 8
Transfer the rolls to the prepared baking dish with the cut sides facing up. Bake in the preheated oven until light golden brown on the edges, 35 minutes.
Step 9
While the rolls are baking, make the glaze by beating confectioners' sugar, milk, butter, cream cheese, and vanilla in a bowl until well combined.
Step 10
Remove the pumpkin rolls from the oven and immediately spread the glaze over the top. Serve and enjoy!
