2 pounds (900 g) prepared pizza dough
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup minced pepperoni
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tbsp grated Romano cheese
3 tbsp white sugar
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp minced garlic
3/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease two baking sheets or line with parchment paper.
Step 2
On each prepared baking sheet, roll or press out half of the pizza dough into a rectangle.
Step 3
In a bowl, mix crushed tomatoes, pepperoni, 1/4 cup olive oil, Romano cheese, sugar, salt, garlic, oregano, and black pepper. Stir to dissolve sugar and salt. Spread half of the sauce evenly over each crust, extending it to the edges. Drizzle 2 tbsp olive oil over each pizza.
Step 4
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the crusts are crisp on the bottom and the sauce looks dry at the edges but is still moist in the middle.
Step 5
Allow the pizzas to cool to room temperature on wire racks for about 20 minutes. Then, cut each pizza into eight 9x3-inch strips.
