225 g thinly sliced deli roast beef
1 can (300 g) condensed beef consomme, undiluted
1 jalapeno pepper, diced (or more to taste)
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
salt and ground black pepper to taste
30 g all-purpose flour (or as needed)
12 Hawaiian bread rolls, split
6 slices provolone cheese
6 slices pepper Jack cheese
2 tbsp spicy horseradish (or to taste)
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
Step 2
Roughly chop the roast beef until crumbly.
Step 3
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the beef consomme, jalapeno, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then add the roast beef. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer until heated through (1-2 minutes). Stir in the flour and cook until thickened into a gravy (3-5 minutes). Remove from the heat.
Step 4
Place the bottom halves of the split rolls on a baking sheet and layer with provolone cheese slices. Spoon the meat mixture onto the provolone and cover with pepper Jack cheese slices. Spread a thin layer of horseradish on the inside of the top rolls and place them on top of the sandwiches.
Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted (about 5 minutes). Cut the sliders apart and serve.
Step 6
Tip: For extra heat, add more jalapeno or spicy horseradish to suit your taste.
