5 slices bacon
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp white sugar
0.5 tsp ground black pepper
1 head leaf lettuce, rinsed, dried, and torn into bite-size pieces
6 green onions with tops, thinly sliced
Step 1
In a large, deep skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until crispy. Remove the bacon, crumble it, and set it aside. Keep the bacon drippings in the pan.
Step 2
To the skillet with the bacon drippings, add the red wine vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, and pepper. Stir over medium heat until the mixture is hot.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the lettuce and green onions. Add the warm dressing to the bowl and toss to evenly coat the salad. Sprinkle the salad with the crumbled bacon and serve.
