2 (7 oz) cans whole green chile peppers, drained
1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
0.33 cup milk
4 eggs, lightly beaten
salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x12-inch baking dish.

Construct green chile-cheese layers in the dish as follows: first, line the bottom with green chiles. Sprinkle with ½ cup shredded cheese. Repeat these layers twice more. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Pour this mixture over the chiles and cheese.
