Ingredients

2 medium-sized potatoes, cut into bite-sized chunks
2 sweet potatoes, cut into bite-sized chunks
3 tbsp butter
2 pinches salt
0.5 cup pitted and chopped dates
0.25 cup pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon

In a large pot, boil the potatoes and sweet potatoes with salted water until they are fork-tender (about 15 mins). Drain them afterwards.

Melt butter in a skillet on medium heat. Add in the cooked potatoes and sweet potatoes, seasoning them with salt. Cook until they start to brown (around 3 mins).

Mix in dates, pumpkin seeds, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Continue cooking and stirring until dates are warm and pumpkin seeds turn slightly brownish (1 to 2 mins). Remove from heat.

Using a potato masher or fork, mash the potato mixture until smooth.
