Ingredients

50g butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cups ketchup
83ml distilled white vinegar
125ml water
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp prepared yellow mustard
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
450g chipped chopped ham
8 kaiser rolls, split
1 cup pickle relish

Directions

1

Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).

2

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Cook and stir the onion until it turns translucent, about 5 minutes. Add ketchup, vinegar, water, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Let it simmer for around 10 minutes. Incorporate ham.

3

Cook until the sauce bubbles and the ham is heated through, which should take about 5 to 7 minutes more.

4

Meanwhile, heat kaiser rolls in the preheated oven until they're toasted, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.

5

Once the ham is cooked and the rolls are toasted, assemble the sandwiches by adding the ham mixture to the bottom half of each roll. Top with pickle relish and serve hot.
