Ingredients

2 (1 pound) acorn squash, halved and seeded
4 teaspoons melted salted butter
4 teaspoons brown sugar
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

Prick the insides of the squash halves all over with a fork. Brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar. Arrange the squash halves, cut sides-up, in a large microwave-safe dish.

Microwave on high power for about 10 minutes until the flesh is tender and easily pierced with a fork. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
