Add onion and bell pepper to the skillet; cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Then mix in beans, barbecue sauce, and half of the cooked bacon. Bring to a boil.
Transfer the bean mixture to a 1.5-quart baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil and bake until bubbling, roughly 20 minutes.
