Ingredients

1 (19 oz) can Southern-style flaky refrigerated biscuits
1 (16 oz) package maple-flavored breakfast sausage
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
1.5 cups milk
0.5 tsp salt
0.25 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp butter

Directions

1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2

Place biscuits onto a baking sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake until golden brown, 13 to 17 minutes; then slice in half crosswise and keep warm.

3

Meanwhile, crumble sausage into a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle sausage and pan drippings with flour, cooking for another minute.

4

Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in evaporated milk, followed by regular milk. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until your desired gravy thickness is reached (3 to 5 minutes).

5

Season with salt and black pepper; stir in butter until melted. Add more flour if needed for thicker gravy.

6

Serve biscuits, cut-side up, with a generous ladle of sausage gravy on top.
