Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch glass baking dish.
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook pasta for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain and mix in 6 tbsp sliced butter.
In a medium bowl, beat egg yolks, 0.5 cup sugar, and cream cheese. Stir into noodles, then add sour cream, cottage cheese, and salt.
In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Fold them into the noodle mixture, and transfer to the prepared baking dish.
For the topping, combine 4 tbsp melted butter, 0.25 cup sugar, and graham cracker crumbs in a small bowl. Spread over the noodle mixture.
Bake until the casserole is set with a beautiful golden brown crust on top, about 1 hour.
