Ingredients

cooking spray
50 g unsalted butter
1 large onion, finely diced
3 stalks celery, finely diced
0.5 tsp salt, adjust to taste
0.25 tsp freshly ground black pepper, adjust to taste
0.25 tsp dried sage
0.25 tsp dried thyme
0.25 tsp dried rosemary
pinch cayenne pepper, adjust to taste
700 ml chicken broth
450 g saltine crackers, crushed

Directions

1

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray.

3

Remove skillet from heat and stir in chicken broth.

4

In a large bowl, mix together crushed crackers, onion mixture, egg, and milk. Season with salt and black pepper.

5

Transfer the cracker mixture to an even layer in the baking dish and smooth the top.

6

Bake until the top turns golden brown, 40 to 45 minutes.
