Ingredients

3 tbsp softened salted butter
4 hamburger buns
8 slices thick-cut bacon
500 g lean ground beef
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp steak seasoning
4 slices Cheddar cheese
4 large eggs
4 large lettuce leaves
0.5 red onion, thinly sliced
2 avocados, peeled, pitted and thinly sliced

Directions

1

Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and oil the grate. Spread butter on each bun half.

2

Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp, about 10 mins. Absorb excess grease with paper towels. Set aside.

3

Combine beef, Worcestershire sauce, and steak seasoning in a bowl. Don't overmix. Shape into 4 patties and create a thumbprint in the center of each patty.

4

Grill patties on the preheated grill for around 6 mins per side or until reaching an internal temperature of at least 71 °C. Keep the grill heated.

5

Place bacon, Cheddar cheese slices on top of patties. Close the lid and let the cheese melt about 1 min. Remove patties from the grill.

6

Toast buns with buttered sides on the preheated grill until golden, around 1 min. Assemble burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun.

7

In the same skillet, reheat bacon grease over medium-high heat. Crack eggs and fry until whites set but yolks remain runny, about 4 mins. Place an egg on top of each patty.

8

Add lettuce, sliced onion, avocado, then top buns.
