Ingredients

2 (8 oz) cans whole water chestnuts, drained
1 1/4 cups soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
24 slices thick-cut bacon, cut in half
1 (15 oz) can pineapple chunks, drained
toothpicks
1 cup brown sugar

Directions

1

In a small bowl, combine water chestnuts, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Toss to coat; marinate for 30 minutes.

2

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

3

Drain water chestnuts; discard soy sauce. Place 1 pineapple chunk in center of each bacon half, then place 1 water chestnut on top. Fold ends of bacon over water chestnut; secure with a toothpick. Repeat with remaining pineapple, bacon, and water chestnuts.

4

Gently toss bacon-wrapped pineapple and water chestnuts in brown sugar in a bowl; place on the prepared baking sheet.

5

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Flip pieces over and continue baking until bacon is cooked to your desired doneness, 15 to 35 minutes more.

6

Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain briefly. Serve hot.
