This teriyaki broiled salmon is brushed with a homemade glaze and finished under the broiler. Garnished with scallions and sesame seeds, it's perfect for an Asian-inspired dinner.
In a small bowl with a lid, combine 1/4 cup cold water and cornstarch. Seal and shake until cornstarch dissolved; set aside.
In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine remaining 1 cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and sesame oil. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Stir in cornstarch mixture until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat; reserve 1/2 cup glaze.
Preheat oven's broiler to low and set an oven rack about 6 inches away from the heat source. Line a baking sheet with foil and place salmon on it.
Brush all sides of salmon with remaining teriyaki glaze. Broil for 12 minutes, then brush reserved 1/2 cup glaze over the top. Turn broiler to high and continue broiling until salmon flakes easily with a fork, about 3 minutes.
Garnish with thinly sliced green onion and sesame seeds before serving.
